Raffi Yedalian

About

Born in Beirut in 1973, Raffi Yedalian is a Lebanese Armenian figurative painter and sculptor. Yedalian studied Etching at the Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, ALBA, and further studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Art Toros Roslin.

His concern with the human condition is represented as an asymmetrical balance, inspired by challenges of human life and survival, as well as the psychological deconstruction of the human. This preoccupation finds expression through stylistic and thematic dualities, symbolising the continual battle between confinement and freedom. Yedalian’s paintings are both emotional and cold, expressive and quiet, his oeuvre is complex beyond its simplicity.
